The Development and Certification of Competencies
Exeo Consulting has developed different methodologies for the design and the realization of programs for the development of competencies: starting from the evaluation process (assessment centre, interviews, committees and self assessment), the construction of plans of individual improvement, ending with the support (coaching) of the realization of these plans, also with the use of on line instruments and methodologies.
Performance analysis and competency mapping
To discover the ingredients and the “recipe” for an excellent performance is the first and fundamental step for the Organization or the individual who want to increase their competitiveness. Exeo Consulting has developed different methodologies which provide: differential comparison between excellent, normal and low performances in equal context conditions; the study of effective behaviours in critical and difficult situations and decisions; the introduction of competencies that will be necessary in the future through the development of possible business scenarios or in the context of Change Management projects.
Diagnosis and certification of competencies and potencial
Exeo Consulting uses methodologies which are able to evaluate the possession of competencies, both before (diagnosis) and after (certification) the development initiatives, making use of a large range of tools such as on line Simulators, Assessment Centre, questionnaires and evaluation interviews, or interviews on critical events, and so on. The programs of diagnosis and certification of competencies and potential have many different applications, for example they can be used for: building the basis of programs for learning the competencies necessary for the performance improvement; providing incentives for the participants to invest in their own professional development, linking the competencies to the compensation system.
Performance and coaching improvement plans
An adult achieves new competencies connected to the performance if he shares the aims and has a clear idea of the modalities and the importance of the personal investment which is necessary. The performance improvement plan, possibly supported by coaching sessions, responds to these needs. The plans, autonomously governed by the person or following a coaching “contract”, are applied with good result for the development of competencies which are transferable with difficulty, especially the competences regarding behaviour such as: being enterprising and innovative, having relational flexibility, orientation towards results and being good at team working and team building.
Motivational counselling
The improvement of the performances isn’t obtained only through the learning of new competencies, but also through a revision of the motivational structure, in a way that “recharges” the person and wipes away all the interfering mental orientations. The Motivational Counselling is applied with good results in a large range of areas, such as: talent management, assistance during a moment of important career development; coaching programs, if these are obstructed by the presence of mental orientations which are not functional to the development aims; management of cases of downsizing or organizational restructuring that require a motivational recovery of resources.
Guides to the individual development and training booklets
The development of competencies and performance remains a personal responsibility also if supported by the coaching and the specific plans created by the Organization.
The guides to development prearranged by Exeo Consulting provide the person with a vast knowledge of the possible means and actions of development useful for his growth, supporting the choice of “what to do”, and the verification of the results. The guides to individual development and the training booklets also represent effective tools of new and increasing importance because: they prepare people for the certification of their competencies, they define and control the training curricula, they compare the investments in training and development to the results of the evaluations of the performances over time.
